SONICblue Introduces New CD/MP3 Players

SONICblue has introduced a new line of portable digital music CD players, the RioVolt SP150 and SP350, which can play CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, as well as MP3 and Windows Media (WMA) files.

"The SP350 and SP150 bring Rio functionality, performance and fun to the portable CD/MP3 category," says Ed Brachocki, vice president of audio and video product marketing for SONICblue. "The SP350 integrates full navigation and music library information in a 19mm player and the SP150 provides consumers a uniquely styled, fully featured player at a more affordable price."

The RioVolt SP350 multifunction CD player is only 19mm thick, yet it includes a large, integrated 3-line backlit text display screen so users can navigate the more advanced features of the player. It includes support for ID3 music tags (for displaying artist and album information) and M3U playlists created with services such as Moodlogic. In addition, the player features an FM tuner, adjustable EQ, repeat and shuffle play modes, and programmable playlists so users can play music the way they want. The SP350 also offers a 32-minute SteadyPlay skip protection and a rechargeable battery that gives users up to 17 hours of use.

The SP150, on the other hand, runs on two AA batteries for up to 20 hours of playing time. Its distinctive design includes a lighted 3-line text display and 16-minute SteadyPlay skip protection. Like its big brother, it also supports ID3 tags and offers an adjustable EQ, repeat and shuffle play modes, and programmable playlists. There is no FM tuner, however.

The new SP150 is available for $100 and the SP350 is available for $180 from www.sonicblue.com and other major retailers.
